Group and its subsidiaries Polar and Industrial Technology Poland to strengthen
its advanced polymer solutions (APS) business unit.

Holdings B.V., a leading global chemicals and materials company, has completed
the acquisition of Mepol Group, a manufacturer of recycled, high-performing
technical compounds located in Italy and Poland. This deal was announced in

According to TechSci Research, the acquisition of Mepol
Group and its subsidiaries Polar and Industrial Technology by LyondellBasell
Industries Holdings B.V. is expected to have a positive impact on the growth of
the recycled polymer or plastic market. The acquisition of Mepol Group is part
of LyondellBasell's broader strategy to expand its presence in the recycled
plastics market. In April 2023, the company also acquired Veolia's 50% share in
the two companies jointly owned Quality Circular Polymers (QCP) BV recycling
facilities. QCP BV operates two recycling facilities in Belgium and the
Netherlands, and it produces recycled polypropylene (PP) resins under the
Circulen Recover brand.
With the acquisition of Mepol
Group and Veolia's stake in QCP BV, LyondellBasell is now one of the leading
players in the recycled plastics market. The company is well-positioned to meet
the growing demand for recycled plastics, and it is committed to helping to
create a more sustainable future. Through this acquisition, LyondellBasell
Industries Holdings B.V. can increase its portfolio of recycled plastics
products and enhance its expertise in recycled plastics technology as Mepol
group is known for their high innovation and research practices. The company
can also increase the scale or capacity of plastics recycling and set a stronger
position in the plastic recycling industry to meet the growing demand for
recycled plastics.
