Archroma and Colourizd have collaborated to revolutionize
the textile and fashion industries through Sustainable Fashion
Switzerland: Archroma and Colourizd
have entered into a partnership and together will establish a new benchmark for
the more environmentally responsible manufacturing of sustainable textiles.
Archroma is a global leader in specialty chemicals for sustainable solutions.
With the help of the new partnership, fabric mills and brands will be able to
create high-performance textiles with the greatest possible consumer appeal and
the least possible environmental effects through the combination of Archroma
pigment colouring solutions with the Colourizd, QuantumColour yarn-coloring
technology. With Archroma, textile producers and clothing companies can enhance
the QuantumColour procedure with specialized system solutions, such as JUST
COLOUR. With Helizarin binders and Archroma's Printofix pigment dispersions,
this formaldehyde-free pigment colouring system produces incredibly soft
fabrics with great fastness and durability while also providing energy and
chemical savings and increased production. Cellulosic and synthetic yarns are
dyed using traditional fiber-reactive techniques, which are multi-step,
resource-intensive procedures that require up to 95 litres of water per
kilogram of coloured yarn and emit about 94 litres of effluent. In comparison,
the ground-breaking QuantumColour method uses just 0.95 litres of water per
kilogram of coloured yarn while producing no waste by immediately injecting the
pigment and a binder into the yarn. This entails a record-breaking 98% drop in
water use, zero discharge of hazardous chemicals or wastewater, a 73% drop in
carbon footprint, and a 50% drop in energy use.
According to the Director of Archroma, “Archroma is committed to advancing the
fashion and textile industry with sustainable solutions that are safe,
efficient and enhanced As the preferred supplier of pigment coloration
solutions for QuantumColour we are proud to join Colourizd in challenging
industry conventions to make textile and fashion production better for brands
and mills, people and our planet.”
According to the Chief Executive
Officer, Colourizd, stated
“With a mission to revolutionize the textile industry through groundbreaking
and eco-friendly solutions, COLOURizd™ is pleased to partner with Archroma to
champion clean and simple yarn coloring. We are reimagining textile coloration
in partnership with leaders like Archroma because we believe in a future where
fashion is accessible, affordable and sustainable”
According to TechSci Research, Consumers are becoming more
concerned of what they eat and wear as a result of rising knowledge about climate
change, global warming, and waste dumped into the oceans. The fashion business
is currently going through a transformation into a more sustainable front. Over
the coming years, with increasing awareness among the consumers , the market
for vegan leather will increase as a
result of this, many fashion firms are prohibiting leather made from creatures
like crocodiles, snakes, and kangaroos. Textile firms are becoming climate
neutral and improving their vegan leather selection, along with the introduction
of plant-based leather demand for cruelty-free leather will increase in the future. Despite
the fact that certain urban customers are becoming more aware of the
environmental difficulties the fashion industry faces and more open to the
concept of sustainability in fashion, the uptake of sustainable fashion is
still constrained by a lack of environmentally friendly solutions. Another
group of buyers, driven by a strong demand for variety and the consequent
unthinking purchasing of less expensive quick fashion, has not yet warmed to
the concept of sustainable fashion.
The popularity
of sustainable and organic clothing demonstrates how modern consumers are
adopting eco-friendly design trends. The demand for organic textiles is growing
in line with its market size, which is also expanding. For instance, organic cotton has emerged as
the most well-known sustainable textile in India. The country being the second
largest producer of cotton in the world has also produced approximately 1.23
million tonnes of organic cotton in 2022. This collaboration will further
create lucrative opportunities for the growth of sustainable textiles industry.
According to a report published
by TechSci Research, “Textile

Competition”, The global textiles market is being propelled by
several key growth drivers, including increasing population and urbanization,
rising disposable incomes, fashion and style trends, technological
advancements, demand for sustainable textiles, e-commerce and digitalization,
and the growing applications of technical textiles. Industry players who adapt
to these drivers and leverage the opportunities they present will be
well-positioned to thrive in this evolving market. ever-evolving
fashion and style trends significantly influence the textiles market. Consumers
are increasingly conscious of their appearance and personal style, leading to a
higher demand for a variety of fashionable and trendy clothing and accessories.
This drives the production of different fabrics, designs, and finishes, thereby
propelling the growth of the textiles market.
