Qualcomm India to provide carrier aggregation support technology to mobile makers
India: Mobile manufacturers are
continuously launching new mobile models with advanced features in the Indian
market. These models are equipped to adopt the 4G network to give customers the
experience of high-speed internet services.
Viewing this upcoming development in the
mobile world, Qualcomm India offers ‘carrier aggregation support technology’ to
the mobile manufacturers such as Micromax and Samsung.
The company has two carrier aggregation
solutions -the first one can be plugged into existing chipsets and another one
is an inbuilt solution.
Currently, on 4G platform very limited
services are available in India; however, the market is witnessing an increase
in 4G devices shipment. The increase in shipment has resulted in narrowing the
prices between 4G and 3G devices, making 4G devices more affordable to the
customers.
The customers are more keen to buy 4G
devices on the back of the development in the telecom sector. Recently,
Reliance Jio announced to soon rollout 4G network in India. Airtel and Vodafone
are already providing 4G services in some part of India. Hence, the consumers
are also keen to be equipped with the devices which enable them to utilize
advanced services.
TechSci Research depicts, India being
the key market for mobile manufacturers. It is projected that the mobile
production in India will reach 100 million units. With ‘Make in India’
initiative, many manufacturers have increased their production by setting up
new plants in India. To get the benefit of the growing production facilities
and growing adoption of mobile devices, Qualcomm India decided to supply its
carrier aggregation support to the mobile manufacturers.
