NIIT Technologies bags £23 million deal from Ofcom
United Kingdom: Indian IT solutions company,
NIIT Technologies have entered into an agreement with the United Kingdom
communications regulator –Ofcom for provision of Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) Services. The project awarded will be the part of Project Apex and the
contract is closed at £23 million. The term of the project is six years which
includes an initial 4 years and extensions.
As a part of the contract, NIIT technologies will provide
multiple services such as transition services, service management processes, communication
& collaboration services, security services, application support &
maintenance services, end user computing services, hosting & storage
services, user support services, project management & project management
office services for infrastructure and knowledge transfer from CGI and service
management and integration services.
In 2010, the communication regulator awarded Logica its ICT
contract, however, the company got acquired in 2012 by CGI.
Earlier in October 2015, NIIT Technologies entered into a
long-term strategic agreement with Flydubai –a Dubai based airline. According
to the agreement, NIIT Technologies build specific IT systems catering to all
facets of Flydubai business.
