Excelfore collaborates with Microsoft to expand
scope of In-Vehicle Connected Platforms
United
States: Excelfore,
an innovative provider of cloud platform and connectivity applications for intelligent
transportation joined forces with Microsoft on connected vehicle platform for
over the air (OTA). The collaboration will combine Excelfore’s extensive
experience to connect with the electronic devices in a car, with the cloud
expertise of Microsoft. Excelfore’s eSync data pipeline will be available on
Microsoft’s Connected Vehicle Platform for Over-the-air updates, diagnostics
and telematics and eSync will serve as a solution accelerator for the connected
vehicle platform.
Excelfore Corporation
delivers solutions for smart mobility networks, enabling automotive OEMs to
build the next generation of connected cars, smart cars, among others. It also
provides solutions to enable secure networks for the automotive industry and
Internet of Things. Excelfore provides an implementation of
the eSync pipeline which also includes the server in Microsoft Azure, the
client in the vehicle, and agents for the end devices. The specifications for
the eSync data pipeline and eSync compliant components can be accessed through
the eSync Alliance.
GM (Azure IoT Mobility, Maps
and Connected Vehicle) of Microsoft stated that, “Excelfore has integrated
their proven data pipeline with Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform’s in
vehicle and cloud architecture to reach any number of end devices in the
connected car. OTA updates and data gathering are increasingly important
technologies for the digital transformation of the automotive market.”
According to TechSci Research, the connected vehicle

According to the published
report by TechSci Research, “Global Automotive
Navigation Systems Market By Vehicle
Type (Passenger Car & CV), By Device Type (In-Dash Navigation System &
Portable Navigation Devices), By Distribution Channel (OEM & Aftermarket),
By Region, Competition, Forecast & Opportunities, 2024”, the
global automotive navigation systems market is projected to surpass $ 6 billion
by 2024, on account of increasing need for monitoring real-time traffic.
Automotive navigation systems make use of computer mapping techniques and
global positioning device (GPS) to give three-dimensional view which includes
information, velocity and time. Shift in consumer demand, favorable government
regulations and growing traction of ride hailing apps such as Ola, Uber and
Grab are expected to push the market in the coming years. Moreover, sectors
such as e-commerce, taxi and logistics rely on navigation systems for locating
addresses, as automotive navigation systems help to locate traffic on highways
and roadways as well as suggest different routes based on the real-time
traffic.
According to another TechSci Research report, “Global In-Dash Navigation System Market By Vehicle
Type [Passenger Cars, LCV and HCV], By Electric Vehicle Type [BEV, HEV and
PHEV], By Component Type [Display Unit, Control Module, Antenna Module and
Wiring Harness], By Connected Navigation Services Type [Real Time Traffic &
Direction Information Services, Fleet Management Services and Others], By
Technology [2D Maps and 3D Maps], By Company and By Geography, Forecast &
Opportunities, 2024”, the global in-dash navigation system market size is
projected to grow at a CAGR of over 10% until 2024 due to the growing demand
for luxury vehicles, coupled with rising demand for advanced technical features
and real time traffic updates software in the vehicles, globally. Moreover,
increasing demand for light weight vehicle components and increasing vehicle production
are some of the other factors that are driving the in-dash navigation system
market. In terms of technology, 2D maps category accounted for the largest
share among the technology types in 2019 and it is expected to dominate the
in-dash navigation market among all the technology types through the forecast
period as well.
