Search engine firm, Baidu has become the
first Chinese company to join the artificial intelligence group, consisting of
top U.S. firms.
China: Baidu was named one of the four national
artificial intelligence company which invests heavily on the autonomous driving
and deep learning by the China’s ministry government. The company has joined AI
ethics group which is led by top U.S, firms amidst political conflict between
the two countries.
The AI group is a central body which
develops ethical guidelines for artificial intelligence research and ensures
that research does not violates international human rights. The AI group has
many technology giants, such as Google, Facebook, and Apple, as their members.
Despite the political clash existing
between the two countries, companies from U.S. has established their AI
presence in China. Google, Amazon, and Microsoft expanded their artificial
research labs in China last year, amidst stringent censorship and data
restrictions restricting companies’ involvement in the country.
Partnership on AI (PAI) announced that
they welcome, Baidu, as the first member from China to the partnership on AI.
This important step is aimed at creating a global partnership that provides
open and inclusive platform for the discussion and engagement on the future of
AI. PAI went on to say that they are looking forward for members to work across
borders, sectors, and disciplines to shape the future of the technology.
China plans to become the global leader
in artificial intelligence by investing USD 400 Billion in the industry by 2025.
The artificial intelligence roadmap will encourage technology sharing between
private, public and military research groups.
According to TechSci Research, the partnership
of Baidu with PAI consortium will enhance the technological capabilities of the
AI technology. Technological giants expanding their research lab in China will
promote the adoption of the global artificial intelligence market. Factors,
such as rising penetration of AI market into various domains including
healthcare, electronics, and automobile, growing technological advancements,
and elevating demand for self-learning machines, are promoting the growth of
the global artificial intelligence market.
According to the recently published
report by TechSci Research, “Global
Artificial Intelligence Market, By Application, By End User, By Region,
Competition Forecast & Opportunities, 2012 – 2022”, Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to
the development of computer systems or machines which are capable of performing
tasks generally done by human such as recognizing different images, speech,
gestures or understanding the human language. These machines are also capable
of taking decisions by self-learning from the nearby environment. Global artificial intelligence market is expected to grow at a robust
pace over the next five years, owing to its widespread implementation in
numerous industries, such as automobile, finance, healthcare, consumer
electronics, etc. Moreover, growing investments coupled with increase in number
of acquisitions of start-ups by leading players such as Google, IBM, Microsoft
and others is driving the global artificial intelligence market. Furthermore,
increasing research & development activities are also expected to aid the
penetration of artificial intelligence into newer applications in next five
years. The global market of artificial intelligence is anticipated to grow at a
CAGR of over 60% during 2017 – 2022. On the basis of application, global
artificial intelligence market has been broadly segmented into image
recognition, natural language processing, speech recognition, gesture control
& others. Among these categories, image recognition dominated global
artificial intelligence market in 2016, and the segment is expected to maintain
its dominance over the next five years as well.
According to the recently published
report by TechSci Research, “China AI in Telecommunication Market, By Component (Solutions and Services), By Technology (Machine
Learning & Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing), By Application
(Customer Analytics, Network Security, Self-Diagnostics, etc.), By Deployment
Type (Cloud and On-Premises), By Company and By Geography, Forecast &
Opportunities, 2023”, China
AI in Telecommunication Market is expected to grow at a strong CAGR over the
next five years owing to increasing adoption of artificial intelligence in
various applications, growing technological advancements, AI in
telecommunication solution providers are concentrating on the growth of robust
cloud-based solutions. Moreover, network providers in China use AI to forecast
the need for network capacity upgrades and to determine the configuration of
the networks. Furthermore, China is making a bet heavily on AI. Money is
pouring in from China’s big internet companies, investors, and China’s
government, ambitious by a confidence that the technology can remake entire
sectors of the economy, as well as national security which will drive the
China’s AI in Telecommunication Market over the next five years.
