Bridgestone Corporation India, the company with its roots in the soil of Japan, has announced the name of its first brand ambassador. The company has appointed world renowned badminton player and Olympic silver medalist, P V Sindhu as their ambassador who will be associating the company for brand activations around the world for its Worldwide Olympic Partnership. “As part of a three-year agreement, Sindhu will be included in Bridgestone’s activations around its Worldwide Olympic Partnership”, announced Franco Annunzito, the senior VP and executive officer Bridgestone Corporation.
P V Sindhu is a Padma Shri awardee and is the first Indian woman who won Olympic Silver medal at Rio in the year 2016.
P V Sindhu sets an ideal example for the youth of the country. Her successful journey towards winning the World Badminton championship in Glasgow is itself an epitome of determination and perseverance. Her winning attitude and undying spirit to chase her dreams perfectly gels with the ethos of the brand and defines the motto of the Japan’s tire market major, Bridgestone Corporation. For this reason, the company chooses her, to depict their brand value and ethos more precisely.
Further, the company has plans to expand at certain points in the country. The company is about to invest 304.3 million $ in the spread of next five years to expand its manufacturing plants at Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. This expansion plan is expected to increase the manufacturing capability of the plants in the country. Presently, approximately 25,000 tires are manufactured in a day. After the execution of expansion plan, the company is expected to manufacture 40,000 tires in a day by the year 2022. Along with increasing the manufacturing capacity, the company will also broaden its variety of tires to serve each and every kind of vehicle requirement.
