Oil & Gas Pipeline Market in MEA to Cross $10 Billion by 2022
Rising construction of more number of cross-country
pipelines to propel Middle East & Africa oil & gas pipeline market
through 2022
According to a recently published
TechSci Research report, “Middle
East & Africa Oil & gas Pipeline Market By Application, By Type, Competition Forecast & Opportunities,
2012–2022”, oil & gas
pipeline market in MEA is
anticipated to cross $10 Billion by 2022. Oil & gas pipeline market in Middle East is
forecast to witness a moderate growth during 2017-2022, as construction of new
oil & gas pipelines were stopped due to decline in crude oil prices.
However, market is slowly recovering as crude oil prices stabilized in 2016. Moreover,
rising investments being made in pipeline infrastructure across the region are
further anticipated to propel demand for oil & gas pipelines in the MEA
region in the coming years. African Development Bank and IMF have been
investing in oil & gas transport infrastructure in the country, to secure
energy supply across the region.

Major pipeline projects are under construction in
Iran. One being the 1850 km long pipeline between Pakistan and Iran. Another
pipeline project comprising the National Iranian Gas Co., would be a trunk line
pipeline, and is expected to transport natural gas to Europe. In Iraq, the
construction of ~1678 km long twin pipeline has been commissioned, wherein one
would be carrying crude oil, while the other one would be responsible for
transportation of gas. The pipeline would be constructed between Basra to the
Red Sea in Jordan. Since, midstream accounted for major share in oil & gas
market in MEA, SAW pipelines is the leading type of pipeline which is in demand
in the region.
