Coatings, a United States based manufacturer of paints and industrial coatings has
entered into a definitive agreement to acquire North American Industrial Wood
Coatings business of Valspar. The acquisition deal is valued at USD420 million
in cash transaction. According to the deal, Axalta Coatings would acquire
manufacturing sites, R&D assets, and underlying intellectual property
related to North America Industrial Wood Coating business of Valspar. The
acquisition is a part of strategic expansion of Axalta Coatings to strengthen
and diversify its performance coatings segment.
TechSci Research depicts that the acquisition
would help Axalta Coatings in widening its industrial wood coatings product
portfolio and aid the company in building strong relationship with its
customers by catering to their needs in more efficient manner.
