Michelin Launches the All-New Pilot Sport 4 S

renowned French tire maker introduces Pilot Sport 4 S in the United States
market

States: At 2017 North
American International Auto Show (NAIAS), held in Detroit, United States, the
CEO of Groupe Michelin, Jean-Dominique Senard, officially launched the Pilot
Sport 4 S tire in the United States market. Moreover, the all new Pilot Sport 4
S tire is considered to be the replacement of the earlier Pilot Super Sport
tire by the company.
As per Jean-Dominique Senard, “By
sharing the best aspects of the Pilot Super Sport with key attributes of the
Pilot Sport Cup 2 (the company’s street-legal UHP competition tire), the Pilot
Sport 4 S solves the pleasure and safety equation for performance enthusiasts,
offering unprecedented driving pleasure, exceptional steering precision and
tremendous directional stability, while also providing maximum safety and grip
on wet or dry roads, even in extreme use.”
With its introduction in the European
market in January 2017, the tire is already selected as an original equipment
fitment on the 2017 Mercedes AMG E63 & E43 models, the 2016 Ferrari GTC4
Lusso, and the brand new Koenigsegg Regera. Michelin’s CEO stated that the
company is looking forward for around 66 global original equipment fitments, as
well.
The all-new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S
would be available in 45 Y-rated extra-load sizes ranging from 18-inch:
245/40ZR18 size, 19-inch: 225/45ZR19 to 325/30ZR19 sizes and 20-inch:
235/45ZR20 to 345/30ZR20 sizes.
The Pilot Sport 4 S is being produced at
the company’s facility in Greenville, S.C., United States and Clermont-Ferrand,
France. Also, the predicted price of the Pilot Sport 4 S tire in the U.S. is expected
to be USD233.
