Yansab Set to Expand Production Capacity of Ethylene Glycol in Saudi Arabia
Petrochemical products manufacturing company, Yansab, plans to hike
production capacity of Ethylene Glycol at Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia:
Yanbu National Petrochemical Co. (Yansab), a Saudi Arabia based petrochemical
products manufacturer, has announced plans to expand the production capacity of
ethylene glycol in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. The company has awarded the ethylene glycol
DBN project, worth USD99.4 million to eTEC E&C limited. The Korean
construction engineering company, eTEC E&C limited would be
responsible for engineering, procurement and construction of the plant. The new
plant at Yanbu is expected to commission by the end of 2018. With the
successful commissioning of plant, the overall capacity of ethylene glycol is
estimated to increase by 80 thousand metric tons per year.
TechSci Research depicts that the expansion in ethylene glycol capacity would allow
Yansab to cater the increasing demand from polyester fiber industry for
application in textile industry as well as from PET industry for application in
soft packaging sector. Additionally, expanding market for ethylene glycol would
ensure steady supply to the de-icing fluids industry, where ethylene glycol is
the most commonly used raw material.
According
to the recently published report by TechSci
Research,
“Global
De-Icing Fluid Market by Type (Type I, Type II,
Type III & Type IV), By Application (Commercial & Non Commercial), By
Composition (Ethylene Glycol & Propylene Glycol), By Region, By Company
Forecast & Opportunities, 2021”,
the global market for de-icing
fluids is projected to grow at a CAGR of over 5% during 2016 - 2021. Growth in
global de-icing fluids market is projected to be underpinned by rising
investments by private companies and supportive government initiatives to boost
aviation industry across major global economies. North America and Europe
accounted for a cumulative share of more than 85% in the global de-icing fluids
market, and the dominance of both of these regions is expected to continue over
the next five years. Increasing expenditure on research and development by
companies operating in the global de-icing fluids market is anticipated to
result in rollout of new products and technologies in the coming years, which
is expected to have a positive impact on the global de-icing market. Few of the
major players operating in global de-icing fluids market include Clariant
International Ltd., The Dow Chemical Company, Kilfrost, Proviron Holding NV,
Cryotech Deicing Technology, LNT Solutions, LyondellBasell Industries NV, and
Integrated Deicing Services, LLC.
