Nuance collaborates with BioCatch for Enhancing Security by Using Biometrics.
United
States: Nuance
and BioCatch collaborate to offer biometric security measures for
authentication purpose on internet as well as mobile devices. This will help
the companies in enhancing protection measures by catching fraudulent activities
based on inconsistencies in the interaction pattern, with the device or an
application. BioCatch has built a unique behavioral user profile by learning
how a person usually uses his keyboard or mouse or how they swipe and tap on
their mobile devices and can then flag any anomalies in a session and warn them.
“In today’s
digital world, hackers have figured out how to bypass the initial
authentication and piggyback on existing logins,” said Eyal Goldwerger, CEO of
BioCatch, in the same press release. “One of the only ways to detect this is
through continuous authentication and, by extension, behavioral biometrics,
because it works in the background, passively, without disrupting the user
experience. By bringing together our behavioral biometrics and Nuance’s voice
biometrics, we are able to solve this problem and secure transactions
holistically across multiple channels. We are very pleased to be partnering
with Nuance to provide a joint solution to the marketplace that addresses this
rampant cyberthreat and to address the growing demand from the market today for
a single suite to handle fraud prevention.”.
TechSci Research depicts that
the new biometric safeguards put in the system will allow seamless functioning
of the operations in the enterprise and with the rise in the IoT industry,
where all elements are digital, biometric protection can play a crucial role in
the unhampered growth in the global economy.
According
to recently published report by TechSci
Research, “Global Biometrics Market By Type (Fingerprint Recognition, Facial Recognition,
Hand/Palm Recognition, Iris Scanner, Voice Recognition, Vein Scanner &
Others), By End Use Sector, By Region, Competition Forecast and Opportunities,
2011 – 2021”, the global biometrics market is projected to cross US
$ 24.8 billion by 2021. Fingerprint
recognition biometric systems are the most preferred type of biometric systems
used across the globe, owing to their ease of use, low cost, high speed and
accurate results. However, in terms of growth, vein scanner biometrics systems
segment is anticipated to outpace fingerprint recognition biometrics systems
over the next five years. In 2015, North America dominated the global
biometrics market, and the region is anticipated to maintain its dominance over the next five years as well
