usage. Whereas, in October 2016, two more models by the company were launched,

TechSci Research believes
that the launch of seven new light commercial vehicle (LCV) models by Mahindra,
would severely impact the country’s three wheeler market. Despite of the
growing demand for three wheelers, in passenger as well as load carrier segment,
the industry has to face an immense competition, arising from the LCV segment
of the country. Among various top players in LCV segment, Mahindra holds an
eminent position in the Indian market. The introduction of such light commercial
vehicles in the country is expected to traumatize the three wheeler market of
the country in following years.
According to a recent report published by TechSci Research, “India
Three Wheeler Market Forecast and Opportunities, 2019”, the
three wheeler market in India is forecast to grow at a CAGR of over 5% during
2014-19. During 2014-19, it is anticipated that three wheelers would witness
tough competition from Electric Rickshaws, Upcoming Bajaj RE Quadricycles and
light commercial vehicles (LCVs). It is anticipated that micro, small and
medium scale enterprises in India would increasingly opt for four wheeler LCVs
as compared to three wheelers over the next five years.
