Goodyear Expands its Fuel Max Radial Truck Tire line
United
States tire manufacturing giant to introduce a new tire model in its Fuel Max tire
line
United
States: Goodyear is going to add a new long-haul
radial truck tire model, Fuel Max RSA, as an advance version of its prior truck
tire, G661 HSA. At 2017 Goodyear Customer Conference held in Orlando, the
company revealed the advanced features of its new Fuel Max tire such as better
traction, enhanced tire life and improved toughness on rough surfaces.
As per Brian Buckham, Goodyear General Manager,
product marketing, “The Fuel Max RSA is for fleets that want greater fuel
efficiency on a regional basis with a SmartWay-compliant tire”. The general
manager also added that the new Fuel Max RSA is mend for regional/long-haul
fleets, operating widely on highways.
“A driver that goes from Columbus to
Indianapolis, and stops in Dayton on the way, would be the perfect customer for
the Fuel Max RSA,” he said. The Fuel Max RSA is installed with the company’s Fuel
Max Technology, wherein, the tire is deployed with cool running compound, along
with enhanced tire tread design to lower down rolling resistance as well as improve
the fuel efficiency.
As per TechSci Research, Goodyear ranks
among the renowned tire players across the United States market. Also, by
launching a new version of Fuel Max tire under its popular tire brand, the
company would be able to penetrate a huge chunk of commercial vehicle fleet
owners across the nation. In addition, it is expected that with the launch of
such an advance product in the United States market, the sale of Goodyear tires
would eventually rise over the coming period.
According to a recent report published
by TechSci Research, “United
States Tire Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2021”, The vehicle fleet of the country is
dominated by passenger car segment, followed by light commercial vehicles,
medium and heavy commercial vehicles, off-the-Road (OTR) vehicles and
two-wheeler segment. As a result, the passenger car tire segment held the
largest volume share in the country’s tire market in 2015, and its dominance is
anticipated to continue during the forecast period as well. Leading global tire
companies operating in the United States include Bridgestone, Goodyear,
Michelin, Cooper, Continental, Sumitomo, Hankook, Yokohama, etc. Increasing
automobile sales paired with increasing vehicle fleet are expected to drive the
country’s tire industry through 2021. Moreover, growth in the country’s tire
industry is backed by increasing sales volume of different vehicle segments,
which is resulting in expansion of replacement automotive fleet in the US.
