Nokian Tyres Launches New CT Tire Range for Heavy Vehicles
Finland: The renowned tire maker,
Nokian Tyres, designed four new CT tire sizes, i.e. 560/60R22.5, 600/50R22.5, 600/55R26.5 and
600/60R30.5 for the vehicles carrying heavy loads and contracting tasks. As per
the Project Manager of Nokian, Tero Saari, “The size of agricultural loads that
are being transported these days is really big, both on fields and on the road.
In addition to agricultural tasks, customers often perform a wide range of
contracting tasks. Traditional agricultural tires may not be suitable for such
extreme use, or it may not be economical to use them due to their fast rate of
wear and susceptibility to punctures. This is why we developed our CT range of
tires”.
The new tire sizes of CT range
have a tread design of 22 to 27 millimeters, which is 5 to 29 percent more than
the corresponding tires of competitors, as reported by Nokian Tyres. For increasing
load capacity, stability and preventing punctures, Nokian CT tires have been
deployed with three steel belts under the tread, instead of the usual two. Among
all other factors, the company has also considered durability as one of the key
advantage of CT Tires.
Mr Saari added “We wanted to
design a tire for farmers and contractors that is as reliable and long lasting
as possible, making it also the most economical choice. In addition, we wanted
to make the tire as versatile as possible, as our customers are often engaged
in a wide range of different tasks, from farming to earthmoving and everything
in between”.
As per TechSci Research, Nokian
holds an eminent position in the Finland tire market. Moreover, by launching
four new CT tire sizes, the company would able to penetrate the consumers of
the country, in an efficient way. Besides that, it is expected that with the
launch of such advance products in the market, the sale of Nokian Tyres would eventually
rise, across the region.
According to a recent report
published by TechSci Research, “Finland
Tyre Market Forecast &
Opportunities, 2020’’,
Finland tire market is dominated by replacement tire segment. In 2014, more
than 90% market share was captured by the replacement tire segment. Major
factors driving growth in the country’s tire market include shortening
replacement period and increasing passenger car sales. Few of the major tire
companies operating in the country include Nokian Tire Company, Continental,
Michelin, Pirelli, Goodyear, Bridgestone, and Yokohama, among others.
