Google Assistant to Release App to Control Smart Home Devices
United
States: Google
Assistant, an intelligent personal assistant developed by Google, is set to release
in the middle of 2017. Google Assistant will be used in connecting the users to
smart home devices, such as Android TV, Android Wear and other home devices, by
voice input through their smartphones or smartwatches.
It is an Artificial Intelligence based
service that would handle the follow-up questions of the users, understand the
wider context & correlate the questions asked by the user, for providing
them with an appropriate response.
Google Assistant is already available on
company's Pixel smartphones and Google Home and will soon be available on the
Android play store. The google assistant is like Google Home which uses a
simple voice request to trigger Google Home and can be used to play music,
podcasts or radio from services like Google Play Music, Spotify, YouTube Music,
Pandora and TuneIn.
TechSci depicts that the growing number
of smart devices like smart watch, smart phones and tablets etc. coupled with
the growing industry of IOT will cause a surge in the use of Google Assistant
in the coming years. This will also allow the devices to connect and synchronise
easily without any hustle, which, in turn, will lead to an increase in the
deployment of these smart home connected devices.
