Smart Communication to start expanding network to improve LTE Coverage
Philippines: Smart Communications, a subsidiary of
Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company(PLDT), will undergo network
expansion in Manilla Metro to enhance their coverage and quality of the LTE
which includes voice, SMS & mobile internet.
Smart communication will roll out the services
to boost network reach for Smart’s LTE & 3G mobile data services across all
17 cities and municipality of Manilla Metro. Smart Communication will be
deploying new base station in about 2500 cell sites that uses low frequency
bands such as 700MHZ, 850MHZ & 900MHZ for its LTE & 3G services.
The company is also working with leading
smartphone manufacturers to bring more affordable LTE devices to Philippines
market. Smart communication LTE Devices also broke a new record last year in
tandem with Nokia by achieving 5G speed of 2.5 Gbps for the first time in
Philippines.
TechSci Research depicts that the rising
demand of using Voice over LTE technology will pave way for LTE devices in
India. The launch of smartphones and that too at low cost will fuel the growth
of the product in the Global market to entice customers from all the segment
who uses LTE for voice & video calling purpose.
According
to TechSci Research report “Global LTE Consumer Devices
Market Forecast and Opportunities, 2020”, global
market for LTE consumer devices projected to grow at a CAGR of more than 26%
during 2015 - 2020. Rising adoption of LTE technology in emerging economies,
increasing number of new LTE enabled registered devices, such as cameras and
other wearable devices, mounting Machine-to-Machine connections, Internet of
Things (IoT) and declining global average selling prices of LTE devices is
projected to propel growth in global LTE consumer devices market through 2020.
Samsung and Apple are expected to continue their market domination; however,
their respective market shares are expected to decline over the course of next
five years.
