Vodafone Launches its 4G LTE Services in Tamil Nadu
Vodafone
has launched its 4G LTE services in Tamil Nadu starting with Coimbatore and
Tiruppur.
India: Vodafone, the leading telecom service
provider in India, launched its 4G (fourth generation) services in Tamil Nadu.
The service "Vodafone Supernet 4G”, will roll out 4G services in all major
towns and cities across the state by March 2017. The service is built on a
strong fibre backhaul which is supported by superfast 3G services on a modern
network of 2100 MHz and enables the customers to experience enhanced mobile
internet with faster uploads & downloads.
Vodafone India Business Head-Tamil Nadu,
S Murali said “On the launch of service, free SIM upgrade to 4G for customers
along with high-speed 4G SIM and 2GB free data on every 4G SIM upgrade”.
TechSci Research depicts that with this
launch Vodafone will grab more number of customers and increase its presence in
LTE consumer devices market. Many other telecoms giant (Aircel, MTS) are also in
fray to provide 4G and above services at throwaway prices, due to which the
market for LTE devices is expected to grow at a higher rate across the globe.
According to report published by TechSci Research “Global LTE Consumer Devices
Market Forecast
and Opportunities, 2020”, global
market for LTE consumer devices projected to grow at a CAGR of more than 26%
during 2015 - 2020. Rising adoption of LTE technology in emerging economies,
increasing number of new LTE enabled registered devices, such as cameras and
other wearable devices, mounting Machine-to-Machine connections, Internet of
Things (IoT) and declining global average selling prices of LTE devices is
projected to propel growth in global LTE consumer devices market through 2020.
Samsung and Apple are expected to continue their market domination; however,
their respective market shares are expected to decline over the course of next
five years.
