Triumph Motorcycles planning to launch Bonneville Bobber in India

India: The biggest British premium
motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph Motorcycles Ltd. is planning to launch Bonneville
Bobber by the end of FY2017 in India. Bonneville Bobber is an addition to
Triumph’s Bonneville T100 and T120 motorcycle range. As per the company, the looks
of the bike would be based on Bonneville T120 and traditional bobber bike
design.
The classic bobber motorcycle
styling includes stripping down bodywork by removing the front fender and rear
fender, which helps in reducing the overall weight of the motorcycle. The
design of the bike includes low-stance with single seat, clean lines and wide
flat bars. The headlight of bike will have the old classic look to improve the
overall appeal.
According to Triumph, the
bike will have 1200cc engine, similar to Bonneville T120 but with comparatively
more torque. The bike would be launched with 76 bhp & amp, 6-speed gearbox,
106 Nm of torque and mileage of 23.80 kmpl. To enhance the performance, the
motorcycle will be installed with twin airbox, twin-filter setup, 2 riding
modes & liquid cooling sensitivity for better fuel efficiency. The company
is also offering 150 additional accessories with the motorcycle. The price of
the motorcycle is expected to be around USD16,175 in India.
As per the TechSci Research,
the launch of new motorcycle in India will take Triumph a step forward towards expanding
its premium motorcycle portfolio in the country, which is further expected to
enhance the market of premium motorcycles by infusing the sale of such motorcycles
in the country.

in India is projected to exhibit a CAGR of ~30% during 2016-2021, on account of

in 2015, and they are further expected to continue to dominate the market
during forecast period as well, owing to growing demand for premium
motorcycles, coupled with increasing number of motorcycle clubs and groups in
cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Chandigarh, etc.
