US Air Force awards USD18.8 Million Deal to Endgame for Digital Defense Software
United
States: Endgame, the US-based
cybersecurity firm, has been awarded USD18.8 Million by the United States Air
Force with a view to arm its forces with the latest technology to fight against
the host of adversaries that stage various computer based attacks.
This cybersecurity deal is being
regarded as one of the largest deals of the year within the “endpoint detection
and response” market, which is a cybersecurity industry’s segment and includes
the identification of security breaches being witnessed on the computers of the
people.
The Air Force has been using Endgame’s
tools already in its internal “red flag” training and exercise games that help
them in fighting against the offensive hackers. However, with this deal, the
military branch is aiming to deploy Endgame’s digital defense software across its
various internal computers for the security improvement.
TechSci Research depicts that the
USD18.8 Million deal between the US Air Force and Endgame will help the
military branch to enhance its security against various computer based
attacks.
According to the recent report published
by TechSci Research, “Global
Cyber Security Market By Security Type (Network Security,
Content Security, etc.), By Solutions (Identity & Access Management, Risk
& Compliance Management, etc.), By End Use Industry, By Region, Competition
Forecast and Opportunities, 2011-2021”,
the global market for cyber security is projected to surpass US$ 137 billion by
2021. Growing trend of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), rising adoption of cloud
computing, expanding market for Internet of Things (IoT) are expected to
continue driving the cyber security market across the globe over the next five
years. Though the global cyber security market is highly fragmented, Symantec
Corporation emerged as the largest player in 2015, followed by BAE Systems PLC,
Intel Corporation and Cisco Systems. Banking, Financial Services and Insurance
(BFSI); IT & Telecom; defense; energy & power; retail; and healthcare
have emerged as the key application areas where cyber security solutions are
being increasingly adopted.
