PPG Undertakes Complete Ownership of PPG Univer S.p.A

Italy: PPG Industries, one of the leading suppliers of paints, coatings, specialty materials, and fiberglass, has purchased the remaining shares of its joint venture, PPG Univer S.p.A from Univer Italiana S.r.l. PPG Univer manufactures architectural and liquid industrial coatings and has a network of 12 retail stores in Italy, with administrative offices and production facility in Cavallirio, Italy. This transaction is an important step in PPG’s effort to continue strengthening PPG Univer S.p.A’s presence in Europe. In recent years, PPG Univer has successfully established coatings business in Italy and is strategizing to further increase its brands in Italy. The company has its headquarters in Pittsburgh and functions in more than 70 countries with net sales of USD14.8 billion in 2015.
