Samsung to Open Air Conditioner Sales Subsidiary in Netherlands
Netherlands: Samsung Electronics
announced its plans to establish a local subsidiary in the Netherlands dedicated
to air conditioner sales. The electronics maker said it will officially launch
Samsung Electronics Air Conditioner Europe (SEACE) in Amsterdam by combining
air conditioner networks in 17 European countries by January next year.
Samsung’s system air conditioner business established strong momentum with
several significant new products, including the innovative ceiling-mounted
indoor 360 Cassette and the DVM. SEACE, a dedicated sales office for air
conditioners in Europe is expected to solidify the sales activities which have
been previously operated by each office across 17 European countries
SEACE will be a pioneer in
specialized distribution, by providing technology support and training, and
enhancing services in ways that foster an acceleration of mutual business
success for SEACE’s partners in Europe. To speed up its system air conditioner
business, the company invited more than 800 business partners to a global forum
in October last year and ran a series of global road shows between November last
year and June this year in 134 cities worldwide to promote its products such as
the 360 Cassette and DVM S.
According to TechSci
Research, Samsung is increasing its efforts to expand its air conditioning
business in the European market. The company estimates that Europe is the
second largest B2B air conditioning market in the world. This would benefit the
company’s plans to become one of the top three air conditioners brands by 2020.
According to a recently
published report by TechSci Research,
“Global Air Conditioners Market Forecast &
Opportunities, 2020”, global air conditioner market is projected to grow
at a CAGR of 8.5% during 2015-20. In addition to the residential segment,
growing hospitality and tourism sectors are contributing significantly towards
rising demand for air conditioners across the globe. Introduction of
energy-efficient air conditioners and air conditioners with in-built air
purifiers is expected to boost air conditioner sales in the coming years. Split
air conditioners dominated the global air conditioners market over window air
conditioners, and this trend is expected to continue during the forecast period.
The adoption of window air conditioners, VRF system, chillers and portable air
conditioners is also expected to grow over the next five years. Few of the
major air conditioner manufacturers with significant global footprint include
Gree, Daikin, Toshiba, Carrier, Midea, LG, Panasonic and Trane.
