Neogen
launches Farm Fluid MAX in Great Britain and plans European expansion.
Dual-action disinfectant for farm challenges, effective against Eimeria
oocysts. Integral to Neogen Pathogen Programme for livestock production.
United
Kingdom: Neogen
Corporation made a significant announcement on April 11, 2024, revealing the
launch of Neogen Farm Fluid MAX in Great Britain, with plans to expand to other
European markets pending global registrations and notifications. This
innovative dual-action disinfectant is tailored for the demanding conditions of
farms and is crafted to integrate seamlessly into the Neogen Pathogen
Programme.
As
an addition to the esteemed Farm Fluid product line, Neogen Farm Fluid MAX is
specifically engineered for use in coccidiosis control protocols. Its efficacy
lies in its ability to combat and eliminate oocysts, effectively disrupting the
protozoa cycle and deactivating up to 100% of sporulated and non-sporulated
oocysts. Diluted at 2%, this disinfectant has shown remarkable effectiveness
against various field strains of Eimeria oocysts, such as E. tenella, E.
maxima, and E. acervulina.
Neogen
Farm Fluid MAX offers versatility, suitable for a range of applications
including general disinfection of indoor and outdoor animal housing, as well as
in wheel and boot dips, with minimal degradation under direct sunlight.
For
optimal results, it is recommended to apply Neogen Farm Fluid MAX to
pre-cleaned, dry surfaces. To enhance its performance further, the disinfectant
should be used as part of the Neogen Pathogen Programme, designed to target
viruses, mycoplasma, bacteria, and protozoa in livestock production. Typically,
Neogen Farm Fluid MAX would be used as the third step in the programme,
following surface cleaning with Farm-Foam EVO and an initial application of
Neogen Viroxide Super disinfectant.
Andy
Hughes, Senior Director of Animal Safety, EMEA, at Neogen, said, “Farm Fluid MAX is a robust and
powerful solution, demonstrating our commitment to providing the
highest-quality products for our customers around the world. We have formulated
this disinfectant with chlorocresol (CMK), a second biocide, and other supportive
ingredients, including a solvent for increased solubility and a surfactant,
making it the ideal solution for combating difficult farm environments.”
According
to TechSci Research,
the introduction of Neogen Farm Fluid MAX presents a notable advancement in
animal health and hygiene solutions within the livestock industry. This
dual-action disinfectant's effectiveness against Eimeria oocysts, particularly
in coccidiosis control, signifies a promising development for farmers and
producers. Its ability to break the protozoa cycle and inactivate a significant
percentage of oocysts addresses a critical need in maintaining animal health
and productivity.
Neogen's
expansion of its product line into the European market, starting with Great
Britain, indicates a strategic move to tap into a growing demand for efficient
and comprehensive farm disinfection solutions. This launch aligns with the
industry's increasing emphasis on biosecurity and disease prevention, factors
that have become paramount in modern livestock production. As a result, we
anticipate a positive impact on the animal health market, with Neogen Farm
Fluid MAX likely to gain traction among farmers seeking reliable methods to
enhance their biosecurity protocols.
Incorporating
Neogen Farm Fluid MAX into the Neogen Pathogen Programme adds another layer of
value to the product. By positioning it as a crucial component in a
comprehensive pathogen control strategy, Neogen offers a holistic approach to
addressing multiple pathogens, including viruses, mycoplasma, bacteria, and
protozoa. This approach not only simplifies farm management practices but also
underscores the effectiveness and reliability of the Neogen brand in
safeguarding animal health.
The
market response to Neogen Farm Fluid MAX is likely to be favorable, especially
among farms and facilities where coccidiosis poses a significant threat. Its
versatility for various applications, such as in indoor and outdoor housing,
wheel, and boot dips, further enhances its market appeal. Additionally, the
minimal degradation under direct sunlight speaks to its practicality and
convenience in farm settings.
