Pirelli Expands Tire Portfolio in North America Region

Pirelli introduces new product for North America by launching P Zero range

United States: Italy based leading tire manufacturer Pirelli has expanded their product portfolio in Norther America region. The company recently launched P Zero All Season Plus tires specifically designed for the North American market for targeting niche customers.

Pirelli tires launched their new range P Zero and P Zero Corsa in Las Vegas show held by Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA). The new range P Zero tires range will be manufactured in company’s Silao plant in Mexico which is expected to double their production capacity by 2018.

P Zero tire range is manufactured to cater multiple segments such as sports cars and luxury cars which are enabled with dynamic performance. These tires have a less sculpted tread pattern design and feature deeply grooved external shoulder to better absorb road surface impact and enhance comfort.

Pirelli P Zero tires are rolled out in the more than 1,000 Original Equipment homologations, and their strategy is focused heavily on OEM accounts mostly targeting the market of prestige” and “premium” car brands. The company is supplying tires for various brand, that indicate those P Zero variants are distinctive with that car brand.

As per TechSci Research, the new tire range launch is expected to support the company to serve rising demand for tires emanating in the North America tire market in a more competitive way. Furthermore, this launch is likely to increase the company’s penetration in OEM accounts of various popular car brands in the region.

According to a recent report published by TechSci Research, “United States Tyre Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2020’’, replacement tire segment accounted for more than 80% share in the United States tire market in 2014. However, the share of replacement tire segment is expected to decline over the forecast period, due to faster growth anticipated in the OEM tire segment. Passenger car tire segment accounted for the largest volume share of more than 80%, in the market in 2014, followed by light commercial vehicle, medium & heavy commercial vehicle, OTR and two-wheeler tire segments. Major tire players operating their tire manufacturing facilities in the US include Bridgestone, Goodyear, Continental, Pirelli, Michelin and Yokohama.
