Intex, Micromax and Lava Likely to Launch Aadhaar-Ready Phones
India: Top mobile phone brands of India, such
as Intex, Lava and Micromax, are likely to embed iris scan technology into
their phones to make them Aadhaar-ready.
The
CEO of US-based Delta ID, Salil Prabhakar, said that Micromax, Lava and Intex, along with Reliance Lyf, have initiated their discussion with Delta
ID to integrate its iris-reading technology into their phones for Aadhaar
authentication. With increasing Aadhaar enrolment in the country, various
Chinese players such as Oppo, Gionee, Vivo, etc. are also interested in the
company’s iris-based technology to enable their phones for Aadhaar
authentication.
Moreover,
the Director of Intex Technolgies, Keshav Bansal, stated that the company is in
discussion with UIDAI for the deployment of Delta ID’s ActiveIRIS technology
into their phones, other companies that have been certified by UIDAI for iris
scan authentication include India-based Biomatiques Identification Solutions
and US-based IriTech.

Research depicts that deployment of iris scan technology into the phones will allow
the users to validate their Aadhaar related details much easily by directly seeing
into the phone’s IRIS camera.
According
