Ducati to launch its XDiavel Model in India
India: The Italian
bike maker is planning to introduce its luxury motorcycle, XDiavel in India
during September 2016. Ducati has already started creating buzz for its new
launch in the coming month by organising events in the country.
With an initial launch of its standard
version of XDiavel, the company is also expected to introduce the premium
variant, XDiavel S in the Indian market soon. Ducati XDiavel is anticipated to
be launched at n ex-showroom price of USD22,500 in the domestic market.
The Indian model of Ducati XDiavel is
deployed with 1262cc Testastretta L-twin engine that would come in couple to a
six speed gearbox. The fuel injected motor engine of Ducati XDiavel would
produce a maximum power of 156 bhp with a torque of 128.9 Nm. Moreover, XDiavel
has been installed with a slipper clutch to make the ride easy as well as
convenient. Whereas, on the other hand, the bike is deployed with twin 320mm
disc brakes for the front and a 265mm disc brake for the rear. The disc brakes
would be further linked to an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) by Bosch, for
safety and precision.
Other main highlights of the Ducati are
multiple riding modes, hands-free ignition, launch control system, full LED
lighting system, cruise control, premium machined finish on alloy wheels &
rear view mirrors along with Bluetooth with infotainment system and a lot more.
In the international market, the Roadster was
unveiled in April, 2016. Moreover, the Harley’s Roadster would be assembled
locally in India and is likely to be priced at USD15,000 (ex-showroom) in the
market.

Forecast and Opportunities, 2020”, India’s premium motorcycles market witnessed
a major turnaround with rapid increase in demand for premium motorcycles since last
three years. The country’s high net worth individuals and upper middleclass
section of the population has continuously been lured with the introduction of
low priced domestically assembled premium motorcycles, thereby boosting premium
motorcycle sales in India.
As
per TechSci Research, India has depicted signs of growth in its premium
motorcycle market of brands such as Harley Davidson, Triumph, Ducati, Hyosung
and many others, wherein, Ducati, ranks among the top players of the domestic
premium motorcycle companies of India. The rapidly increasing purchasing power
among the citizens of the country, has been driving the sale of such brand bikes
in the Indian market. Considering the fact, Ducati also launched its
Multistrada 1200 Enduro, recently, priced at around USD26,000 (ex-showroom), whereas,
the company has already started accepting bookings for it Hyperstrada 939 model,
as well. The positive response from the Indian market has forced the
multinational to plan and introduce its XDiavel variant in the country, later this year. The newly introduced
features in the bike, is likely to increase the sale of the specific model by
Ducati, in coming years, in the Indian market.
