Huawei Technologies plans to expand its cloud computing market
China: The smartphone and telecom-networking
gear manufacturer, Huawei Technologies is aiming to grow its cloud computing
market in Europe, Africa and Russia, where the company’s wireless networks are
being used already.
For
supplying the servers and other data centre related equipment, the company is taking
on Dell Inc., Hewlett Packard Enterprises as well as Cisco Systems, by adopting
the strategy of competitive pricing as well as high R&D investments, which
it used for expanding its telecom and smartphone equipment sales.
Further,
the Deputy Chairman of the company, Guo Ping, stated that the company has
decided to spend around US$ 1 billion of its R&D budget on the data centres
related operating systems and equipment, every year.
The
company will also look forward to build its own cloud platforms for delivering
the customized software and equipment for the private data centres.
