Reliance Jio’s 4G services launched in a full-fledged way
India: Reliance Jio offerings would be
available in market from today itself. The much hyped telecom services from
RJio’s can be received from present day as company has opened its door to the
highly potential user of 4G handset in a quest to reach 100 million users in a
shortest possible time.
RJio’s Sim was earlier availed with
exclusive Reliance Digitals store which will now be offered through mobile
phone shops and multi-brand retail outlets as well, the sim is expected to be
available from around 2 lacs store across the country. The major beneficiary of
the offer would be users of device like IPhone, Motorola, Lenovo and Xiaomi who
were not part of the 1.5 million users in the test phase.
The Sim would be provided as “Welcome
offer” which will provide unlimited service till 31st December after
which voice calls services including both local and STD and roaming free of
cost would be available for lifetime. The form filling and verification will be
done though Aadhar data and using customer finger print and the facility has
been rolled at multiple locations The data charges are also pegged as low as
USD0.74 (INR 50) per GB, compared to USD3.72 (INR 250) a GB in the prevailing
market
TechSci Research depicts that the introduction
of Reliance Jio’s offering in Indian market with cheap price offerings would
give rapid growth to Long term evolution(LTE) devices. With many other telecoms
giant (Aircel, MTS) in fray to provide 4G and above services at throwaway prices,
the market for LTE devices is expected to grow at a higher rate.
According to the recently published
report by TechSci Research “Global LTE Consumer Devices
Market Forecast and
Opportunities, 2020”, global
market for LTE consumer devices projected to grow at a CAGR of more than 26%
during 2015 - 2020. Rising adoption of LTE technology in emerging economies,
increasing number of new LTE enabled registered devices, such as cameras and
other wearable devices, mounting Machine-to-Machine connections, Internet of
Things (IoT) and declining global average selling prices of LTE devices is
projected to propel growth in global LTE consumer devices market through 2020.
Samsung and Apple are expected to continue their market domination; however,
their respective market shares are expected to decline over the course of next
five years.
