Invista installed Nylon 6,6 Polymer Manufacturing Facility in China

China: In 2014, Invista proposed the construction of hexamethylene diamine (HMD) plant and a nylon 6,6 polymer plant in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park in China. The HMD plant has already started in April 2016 whereas the polymer manufacturing plant is expected to begin in the second half of 2016. The production capacity of hexamethylene diamine plant which has already stared is 0.215 million tons per year and the production capacity of nylon 6,6 polymer plant is expected to be 0.15 million tons per year. The company also has plans to start an additional adiponitrile (ADN) plant at the site with a capacity of 0.3 million tons. The total investment in the three plants is expected to be more than USD1 billion, which will be located in close proximity with each other. Company’s three plants are installed with advanced manufacturing technologies for ADN, HMD and polymer production. These facilities are expected to be the world's most energy-efficient facilities of Invista.

TechSci Research depicts that the set-up of new production facility for hexamethylene diamine, adiponitrile and nylon 6,6 polymer products would help the company serve better to the increasing demand for these chemicals in Asia Pacific market. Also, nitric acid which is used in the manufacturing of above chemicals would experience higher demand and grow with magnificent growth rate in coming years.

According to the recently published report by TechSci Research, “Global Nitric Acid Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2021 Nitric Acid is a strong mineral acid and manufactured commercially by the catalytic combustion of ammonia. It is an eroding acid that turns colorless in its pure form and pale yellow due to decomposition of oxides. Demand for crops and vegetables has risen remarkably in recent years, as a consequence of various macroeconomic factors such as high population growth. Increasing demand for food produce is promoting the adoption of more and better fertilizers by the farmers to meet the need and take the explore the rising opportunities. The ammonium nitrate based fertilizers are extensively preferred by the farmers, thus creating demand for the nitric acid. Also, Adipic acid, used in manufacturing of nylon 6,6 which is used in various end-user industries such as automotive, textiles and tire among others, is one of the applications which use nitric acid during manufacturing process. These factors are altogether projecting a brighter and even better future for the product across the globe.
