Substation with Capacity 25 MVA Extra High Voltage (EHV) Completed in Midland, Texas
US: Texas based energy management
and consulting firm Priority Power management (PPM) has completed the
development of a new high voltage substation for Endeavor Energy Resources. PPM
has designed and constructed the substation with one transformer and one
transformer bay. A second transformer will be installed at the transformer bay
in future. The installation of extra high voltage (EHV) transformer would
ensure increased amount of power transmission in the country.
TechSci Research depicts that
with growing population and surge in demand for electricity would result in
development of power infrastructure globally. Transformers are used for
changing the voltage level in case of power generation and transmission
utilities. Power transformers are used to step up and step down the voltage,
whereas for distribution purpose, utilities transformers are used to step down
the voltage to the desired voltage ratings for the customers. The development
of extra high voltage power transmission systems will provide a thrust to the
transformers market of extra high voltage category.
According to a recent released report of TechSci Research, “Global
Power and Distribution Transformers
Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2020”, the global power and distribution
transformers market is projected to grow at a CAGR of over 6.2% and 5.1% by the
end of 2020. Power transformers contribute to a major portion in overall market
revenues due to their higher price points and it would account for 60% of total
market for power and distribution transformers globally. The report also talks
about five regions of the global geography and are classified as Asia-Pacific, North
America, South America, Europe, and Middle East & Africa region.
