Taiwan Based Clevo first to introduce Biometric in Notebooks’ Touchpad

Taiwan: Electronic notebook maker Clevo incorporated Synaptics SecuredPad technology to integrate notebooks with biometric. The technology will be rolled out under the existing brands with notebooks featuring Synaptics Natural ID fingerprint sensors

Synaptics securepad technology would help to bring in more authentication to the user’s notebook, the sensors are embedded in the notebook touchpad allowing for easy fingerprint biometric authentication. The touchpad embedment “allow for clean industrial design” along with providing a password alternative in notebooks. The scanner is separated from touchpad to avoid technical flaw in authentication making Clevo first to bring the innovative design concept.

TechSci Research depicts that the rising demand for Biometrics ID technology would play a vital role in authentication of users in personal as well as in Enterprise system. With the inception of biometric technology in notebooks touchpad, the market would see a rising trend for this type of hardware.

According to the recent report published by TechSci Research, “Global Biometrics Market By Type (Fingerprint Recognition, Facial Recognition, Hand/Palm Recognition, Iris Scanner, Voice Recognition, Vein Scanner & Others), By End Use Sector, By Region, Competition Forecast and Opportunities, 2011 – 2021” the global biometrics market is projected to cross US $ 24.8 billion by 2021. Fingerprint recognition biometric systems are the most preferred type of biometric systems used across the globe, owing to their ease of use, low cost, high speed and accurate results. However, in terms of growth, vein scanner biometrics systems segment is anticipated to outpace fingerprint recognition biometrics systems over the next five years.
