Michelin Introduces Two New Sizes of BFG KO2 Tire
United
States:
Michelin North America Inc. has introduced two new tire sizes in its KO2 all
terrain tire range. The 35x12.50R20 model was launched for light trucks and
LT255/75R17 for the Jeep Wrangler.
According to the company, the
tire was enhanced with better tread life, toughness and traction for extreme conditions
involving mud, gravel, dirt or snow. Some of the other features include tougher
sidewalls, due to the CoreGard technology which focuses on reducing split &
bruises on sidewalls, giving tire an extended tread life, an advance design and
rubber formulation which assists the tire to last longer on asphalt. Also, the
tread rubber is blended optimally to reduce tears & chips on the gravel
surface.
The KO2 can be supported in a
variety of vehicles including Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Jeep, Toyota, Dodge, Nissan
pickup trucks and SUVs.
According to a recent report published by TechSci Research,
“United
States Tyre Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2020’’, the country’s automobile market is the second largest
market of the world, with a motorization rate (including passenger cars and
commercial vehicles) of more than 790 vehicles per 1,000 individuals, in 2014.
Increasing disposable income due to strengthening US Dollar, falling oil & food
prices, and rising standard of living, are resulting in an increased production
and sale of vehicles in the US. Steady growth in sales and production of
automobiles, expanding automobile fleet and favorable government policies, are
anticipated to propel growth in the US tire market over the next five years.
As per TechSci Research,
introduction of new tire sizes in the existing KO2 range will assist Michelin
to strengthen its product portfolio in the country, which would further influence
the company’s market share in the United States tire market in coming years.
