Atlas Copco Completes the Acquisition of Vacuum Pumps Business Unit of Oerlikon
Sweden: Atlas Copco, a Sweden based
industrial tools and equipment manufacturers, has obtained all the regulatory
approvals to complete the buyout of vacuum pumps business unit of Oerlikon, a
Switzerland based industrial equipment manufacturer. The acquisition agreement
was signed in November, 2015 by both the companies, however the closure of deal
with all the regulatory approvals are expected to accomplish by 16 August,
2016. The divestment agreement between Atlas Copco and Oerlikon was based on value
of the company which was approximately, USD540.75 million. Post buyout,
Oerlikon would focus on its surface solutions and advanced materials business.
TechSci Research depicts that
the acquisition of Oerlikon’s vacuum pump business by Atlas Copco would
increase the market share of Atlas Copco in global vacuum pump market.
Additionally, Oerlikon’s carve out of vacuum pump business to Atlas Copco would
aid the later company in increasing its market penetration by enlarging its
customer base and widening its vacuum pump product portfolio.
