Tata Power installed a 100kW Rooftop Solar project in Bengaluru
India: Tata Power commissioned a 100kW solar
rooftop power projects for Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts in Bengaluru area within
21 days, making it the fastest rooftop installation by the company. The plant
would be used as a captive power plant by Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts that
would be capable of generating 1, 46,000 units thereby reducing the carbon
dioxide emissions by 117 tonnes annually.
Techsci
Research depicts that the commissioning of solar rooftop projects would
motivate other manufacturing units to opt for solar power. India has set an
ambitious target of installing 100 GW of solar power out of which 40GW would
come from rooftop installation. More number of solar projects are anticipated
in the future that would drive the demand for solar power equipment. This would
give a major boost to the solar power equipment market in the country.
According
to a recently released report of TechSci
Research, “India Solar Power Equipment Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2020”, the solar power equipment market in
India is projected to surpass USD4 billion by 2020, wherein solar energy would
be generated by employing photovoltaic (PV) and concentrated solar power (CSP)
technologies across the country. Constantly improving solar equipment
technologies, advanced manufacturing processes for production of hi-tech
equipment and anticipated decline in equipment prices is projected to further
drive the solar equipment market over the next five years.
