On October 26, 2023, Gensol Engineering Ltd announced its successful contract of a 62 MW AC grid-connected solar PV project from Maharashtra State Power Generation Co. Ltd. (MAHAGENCO), with an estimated project value of approximately USD 36 million. The solar facility will be situated in Paras village within Maharashtra's Akola district. This achievement underscores Gensol's expertise and leadership in the renewable energy sector, as it takes on the responsibility of developing and implementing this substantial solar power initiative, contributing to the expansion of clean and sustainable energy sources in the region.

Gensol will oversee the entire project's life cycle, encompassing conceptualization, engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of the advanced 62 MW AC solar plant utilizing crystalline PV technology. This project operates under the "Flexibility in Generation of Thermal Power Station through Bundling with Renewable Energy" Scheme, introduced by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in April 2022.

In addition to establishing the solar PV plant, Gensol will also install the associated high-tension (HT) overhead transmission lines or underground cables and provide all necessary electrical equipment. This scope of work extends to creating bays that connect to the 220 kV bays at Paras Substation. Furthermore, Gensol will offer comprehensive operation and maintenance support for both the solar power plant and its associated evacuation infrastructure, spanning a five-year period. The anticipated project completion timeline is set at 12 months.
