Valtris Specialty Chemicals Acquires Akcros Chemicals

Specialty Chemicals, a United States based specialty chemicals provider,
completes acquisition of polymer additives manufacturer, that is, Akcros
Holdings. Akcros Holdings controls two manufacturing plants, one in New Jersey
and another one in Eccles, UK. The acquisition of Akcros Holdings would
strengthen Valtris Specialty Chemicals position as a leader in the North
America and European specialty chemicals. Additionally, the buyout would enable
Valtris to improve its research and development capabilities. Valtris
manufactures additives used in polymer processing, chemical intermediates and
sealants.
TechSci Research depicts
that the acquisition of Akcros Holdings would enable Valtis to cater
the growing demand for pigments for application in paints, coatings and polymer
processing applications.

pigments market size is estimated to cross $34 billion by 2021. Growth in the
